Khartoum International Airport is the largest airport in Sudan and caters to millions of passengers every year. It holds a strategic position in North Africa as a connecting hub for millions of religious tourists travelling through to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
The Group has been working in Sudan for over three decades, having previously operated the Sudan Airways inflight sales programme. The group now works very closely with Sudan Free Zones operating the Khartoum International Airport stores, Khartoum Diplomatic Duty Free and Khartoum Downtown Duty Free in addition to three stores at Port Sudan.
The Arrival and Departure stores have an array of leading luxury brands from perfume and cosmetics through to watches, jewellery, toiletries and confectionery.
A new airport in Khartoum is currently under construction. The new Khartoum International Airport is scheduled for completion in 2022 and will have capacity for 6m passengers annually, rising to 9m and 12m in the second and third phases.
